Spring Things & Makeup Feelings

Spring is the greatest time of the year. The beginning of a lot of new things and changes, especially in makeup. During the winter we like to go a little darker with our makeup, but spring brings the light pastels and the bright fun colors back! Normally I'm all about the neutrals, but I stepped a little out of my comfort zone and bought this playful and colorful eyeshadow palette by Makeup Addiction Cosmetics. I got mine from Boozyshop, but unfortunately they won't sell this product and brand anymore. This palette is currently still available! So take your chance!

Brand

Makeup Addiction Cosmetics is a brand from the UK. I think they started off with brushes only. But now they have also loose pigments, loose highlighter, highlighter palettes, even lashes and of course eyeshadow palettes. Most, if not all products are cruelty free and vegan, so  that means that it is not tested on animals. I feel like this brand isn't really known and not many youtubers and bloggers talk about this brand. I think that's really sad, because this palette is so great and people should hear about it. That's why I'm here, to tell you all about this great palette and brand!

Packaging

I think the packaging is really cute, it has this baby pastel blue color with a floral nature thing going on. This playful packaging really screams spring, also the name of the palette is really fitting for this palette. It's a cardboard palette and it comes in a sleeve. On the front of the palette you find the name of the brand and the palette. I forgot to photograph the back of the palette, on the back of the palette you can find all the shade names, the ingredients (I will list them at the end of the post) and other information you need to know about the product and the brand.

On the inside you get a good-sized mirror with on top the inscription " Addicted to your beauty within ". The spring theme continues on the inside. The greatest thing about this palette is that these pans are magnetic and you can take them out and on the back of the pans you find the shade name of the shadow. This is nice when you want to put all of your favourite eyeshadows together in a Z-palette. They also have two other eyeshadow palettes and two highlight palettes, so you can mix and match within the palettes to achieve your own desired combination!

Product

First of all, you get a lot of product! Each eyeshadow pan contains 3.5g of product, these pans are huge! A normal eyeshadow pan only has 1.5g or 2g in it, so you get much more product. These eyeshadows are also really pigmented as you can see on the swatches below, especially the metallic shades are really creamy and opaque. The matte shades are a little stiffer in the finger swatches, but there's no problem at all when applying it with a brush. They blend really nicely, but you got to make sure to tap off any excess product from the brush before you put the product on the eyes. Because if you would apply it directly to your eyes it might be too harsh and not easy to blend, so it's better to start light and apply more allong the way for a seamless look.

Colors

There's a big variety of color, you get some warm neutrals, a cooltoned darker color and some other playful colors. If you're not the biggest fan of color, this is a really great palette to step out of your comfort zone. You can still create neutral looks, but you also have the option to go full out and do some more playful looks. It's easy to create a smokey eye, but you can also go really soft, depending on wich tools & techniques you use and how you want it. These colors might scare you and you might think you can't create a look with it,  but the possibilities are endless.

Shades

You get 8 shades in this gorgeous palette, I will start off with the top row: The first shade in the palette is called "Sandstone", it's a shimmer champagne pink shade and also works perfect as a highlighter! Second is the color "Sweet Peach", this is such a great warm matte transition shade. Next up is "Dusk", it's a matte burned organge wich is great for in the crease when you want a warmer look. The next shade is quite unique! It is called "Slate Green", wich is a darker blue with green and gold reflects in it, I've never seen anything like it. On the bottom row we have "Bronzed Leaf", this shade is the most pigmented and my favourite shade out of the palette, it's a bronze metallic shade, it could be a nice highlighter if you have a darker complexion. Then we have "Pink Blossom", this is a bright metallic Barbie pink. Next to the pink you have "Poison Ivy", it's a bright metallic grass green color. And last but not least "Crushed Bluebery", this is a matte dark blue, pefect to create a more smokey look for a night out!

Eye Look

I created this really easy, warm neutral look with a pop of color. I used Sweet Peach as my transition shade. Then I took Dusk and put that in the crease and focused it on the outer portion of the crease, there I brought the same shade all the way to the lashline. Next I used Bronzed Leaf on my entire lid and blended the edges using dusk again. I popped a bit of Sandstone in the center of the lid to create a little halo-effect. On the lower lash line I used a bit of Sandstone for a seamless blend and on top I used Slate Green, focussing on the outer part of the lower lash line. Then I applied a little Bronzed Leaf mixed with Sandstone on the rest of the lash line. To complete the look I highlighted my inner corner, browbone and cheeks using Sandstone again.

Et voilà, on est finis! My blue eyes pop even more with these warm orange tones, I love it!

Overall Thoughts

I really love this palette! These are some of the best shadow I have used yet. I quickly ordered  their Flaming Love palette too, because Boozyshop will stop selling this brand and the Vintage palette (that I wanted sooooo baaaad!!!) is already gone. But the palette that I just reviewed is currently still available and also the Flaming Love palette. So for people without Paypal, hurry and go to Boozyshop, or stop the rush and just order directly from the brand itself on the Makeup Addiction Cosmetics site and get your hands on this amazing palette! I will list the ingredients below and I wish you all a nice day and a very happy Easter! See you all later Sweethearts! ☺ ♥

Pretty colors, I prefer the Bronzed Leaf and Crushed Blueberry for everyday wear. The other colors would be great to spruce up an all black outfit.
