JSC - Chrome Collection & Androgyny Palette

Hi everyone, this post is all about Jeffree Star Cosmetics! First of all, if you have a problem with Jeffree Star and you don't like him for some kind of reason, don't read this post or give mean comments. I'm just here for the makeup and to give you an honest review about the products. Almost 2 years ago I found out about Jeffree Star on YouTube and since then I watch every new video. I already knew he had a makeup brand, but I never tried his products before, so these were actually the first products I ever tried from the brand. So it's kind of a first impressions post. If you want to see what I bought and what I think about the producst than keep on reading!

First of all I want to say that I love the packaging of this collection! Everything is pink chrome, super beautiful and luxurious looking. Let's start with the glow! He came out with two new Skin Frosts in this collection, which are his highlighting powders. One was called Crystal Ball, which is a icy white with a pink undertone to it and the one that I got is called Summer Snowcone and this is a yellow gold highlighter. I find that Summer Snowcone is more appropriate for summertime. I think that Crystal Ball would work great with my skintone, but for the summer I like more warm toned highlighters, especially when get a little bit more tanned.

I ordered this shade because it looked very unique, on the internet and in the pan it looks like a straight up yellow shade  and Jeffree is known for his unique highlighter shades, he also has a green and a blue one. But this one actually translates on the skin as a pure gold shade. It also looks a lot lighter on the skin than in the pan, which is great for me because I was a little bit scared that it would be to dark for my fair skin, but I can make it work. This is definitely my new favourite highlighter for the summer! I like the formula too, but to get a more intense effect you need to go in with your brush a few times to get through the top layer. Once you got through you get the most beautiful golden glow! I will definitely get some more Skin Frosts for my collection!

Let's talk about some lips. If you're a trusty follower you might know that I made a post about selfmade lipscrub and I love scrubbing my lips. It's a great method to get rid of dry and crusty lips, it makes your lips smoother and makes your (liquid) lipstick go on more easily and prettier. I never really cared to buy a lipscrub from a brand, because a lot of brands use more chemical products and I would not put that on my lips. But the Velour Lip Scrubs by JSC are also edible! Of course it's not meant to be consumed as a meal. Although it's not esay to resist the smell and taste of it! I got mine in the flavour Watermelon Gum and it is so delicious! It's hard to describe flavour, but if you like watermelon, I'm sure you will love this as much as I do! In this collection he also released two other flavours, Orange Soda and Blue Raspberry Sucker. YUMMY!

From prepping the lips to the actual lipsticks! I got myself one Velour Liquid Lipstick and one Lip Ammunition. Let's start with the liquid lipstick. I got mine in the shade "Hunty" which is a beautiful warm camel nude shade. This one looks very nice on fair to medium skin tones. There are 7 other Velour Liquid Lipsticks in this collection, so there will certainly be one that suits you! The formula is amazing! It's very liquid, but eady to work with. The one that I got is not streaky and it is very opaque! Mine doesn't have a smell, but the two metallic ones from this collection smell like strawberries and I think his other liquid lipsticks also have a smell. I love it this one!

Let's ignore the liquid lipstick trend and talk about the actual lipsticks. I think out of all the products, the Lip Ammunition has the most beautiful packaging, a pink chrome bullet! I love it! But what's more important is the inside. I got my Lip Ammo in the shade Birkin Suede, which is a pale peachy nude, perfect for people with a lighter complexion, if you're more on the darker side you could definitely make it work with a darker lipliner or put it in the center for a ombré-effect. This formula is also really great, very opaque! But it's a thicker consistency in comparison with other lipsticks. It's still comfortable to wear and it also has a very good smell, I don't know what it is. It's something very sweet and creamy, maybe crème brulé or an other dessert...

From the lips to the eyes! Besides the Chrome Collection I also got my hands on the Androgyny eyeshadow palette! Last year he came out with the Beauty Killer palette, which was very Jeffree, lots of dramactic shades, like a hot pinks, bright blue and a black with rainbow glitter in it. But this palette is his version of a neutral palette. There are so many neutral palettes with browns, taupes, warm neutals... So he created a neutral palette with neutral and more fun shades! Great to experiment with pops of color! The top row is more neutral and the bottom row is a bit more fun.

Let's talk about the shades, shadenames, colorselection, the different formulas and pigmentation.

The first shade in the palette is called "Frosting", it's a light gold highlighting shade, this shade is actually darker than the Skin Frost in "Summer Snowcone", it's also a shimmer formula, so this would be a very pretty highlighter as well. Second is "Safe Word" which is a perfect transition shade, but it's also the perfect shade for contouring! Especially if you have a more fair skin tone! "Charm" is a very pretty orange shade, this will make blue and green eyes pop! It has a tiny amount of glitter in it, but it doesn't translate on the skin. Next to that we have "Déjà Vu", this is a metallic copper shade. "Dominatrix" is a dark warm brown shade, similar to his liquid lipstick. The first one on the bottom is called "Androgyny", it's a nice mauve shade, named after the palette, but it's also the name of one of his lipsticks. The next one is Fetish which is a beautiful dark burgundy red shade. This one has also some pink glitter in it, but it also doesn't really translate on the eyes. Next we have a muted green called "Military". Next to the green shade we have a beautiful darker teal shade called "Poison" and last but not least we have a dark royal blue shade called "Swallow". All of the shades are VERY pigmented, you have to go in with a light hand. They are all easy to blend and you could create a lot of looks with this palette! Also the pans are huge! It's hard to see online, but this palette is bigger than the average eyeshadow palette! I love this palette, so I will definitely pick up the Beauty Killer palette as well!
